Won Young Park is a Research Affiliate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley and an Energy Environmental Policy Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research focuses on techno-economic analysis, modeling, and simulation to assess the impacts of emerging technologies at scale in cooling equipment, power grid, maritime transportation, and AI data centers. He has provided extensive national and regional market, technology, and policy analyses for several countries, including Brazil, China, Indonesia, Rwanda, and others across Southeast Asia and Africa. He previously worked at Samsung SDI in South Korea from 2003 to 2007, where he contributed to the development of large-size display technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Yonsei University, South Korea, and a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
