OpenSRA2 Technical Advisory Committee visits CSI

The OpenSRA2 project, funded by the California Energy Commission, aims to enhance the seismic risk assessment of natural gas storage and pipeline infrastructure by employing a novel blend of remote and embedded sensing technology alongside advanced data management and analysis techniques for continuous monitoring of gas infrastructure. An integral component of the project is the role of a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC is composed of qualified professionals including utility representatives, experts from governmental agencies, public interest implementers including members of applicable trades, and researchers. TAC members are periodically briefed on the progress of OpenSRA2, and they provide feedback and guidance in the project direction including technical and financial barriers and opportunities, based on their technical expertise, knowledge of market applications, or linkages between the project scope of work and other projects in the public and private sectors. A recent TAC meeting held in June 2025 included project team members, CEC representatives, and technical experts from utility organizations, regulators, and consultants. The meeting included a tour of the CSI lab, where the OpenSRA2 large-scale testing task will be performed.
