    G. Mathias “Matt” Kondolf is Professor of Environmental Planning at UC Berkeley. His research focuses on human-river interactions, including managing flood-prone lands, urban rivers, and river restoration.  His >200 publications have received over 21,000 citations.  Matt has served as advisor to the Chief of the US Army Corps of Engineers, and provided expert testimony before the US Congress, California legislature, US Supreme Court, International Court of Arbitration, and International Court of Justice (the Hague).
